Hello everyone,
I have had the VR-N7500 for a couple months now and really like it. I was wondering how to turn on VOX? I am just talking through my cell phone/BT. I would like to have VOX so when I talk into my phone I don't have to hold the PTT "button" on the screen. I have searched through all the settings, multiple times, and can't seem to figure it out. I'm sure it is something really simple that I am just missing.
Thanks,
Zach

There is no Vox in the app so you can stop searching.
You can wire into the RJ45 and put a manual on and off switch....
Or search for a BT microphone or LCD speaker microphone...

If you are using your phone as a mic you can purchase a remote PTT switch for it.

Good idea and you need to keep a couple of spare batteries for it..

I used it on a motorcycle and found it not the best but when they changed the click on and click off it made it easier to use.

I had forgotten about that as I don't use it anymore !!

I wonder, could the app be made to have the VOX feature? I'm not a programmer or anything, but it seems that would be a pretty simple addition.

Best way would be the BT PTT or speaker microphone with head set.
The app does have a ppt press for on and press for off latch operation.

Don't think you will ever get vox.

The marketing material for the radio refers to VOX, but it isn’t mentioned in the manual.

You could add your own. This circuit would sense the sound, and operate the same switch that a PTT would operate. It’s basically a touchless PTT, which I guess is all a VOX circuit is anyway…….

Personally I am not a fan of VOX usually, the only time I have seen it executed well is the Cardo motorcycle intercoms. It is dynamic; so that the sensitivity changes according to the environment.

Hi all

Never seen and details on vox in the makers or suppliers in the UK.

I tried the BT PTT before the PTT on hold feature and didn't like it, so went to a PTT switch on the bike. This was wired to the RJ45 on the radio and this is a simple way to interface the microphone and PTT.

I dislike vox and it's more of a pain than what it's worth, coughing sneezing and burping plus other muttering is not what the other rider want to hear .. plus the additional BT got on the way of my system...so it got dumped and went to Autocom...

An application for VOX that I was thinking about was for hooking up a tablet, old cell phone, etc.. to a radio/camp repeater when I go out and about. That way I could link my camp repeater to the network channel that is linked to my home radio. Is there another way to this? Without VOX in the HT app?

Yes there is a way
Hand held into a radio
Radio on network channel with app.

Out of app the other end into 2nd radio and app to another radio.

Route would be FM to N7500 into app network out of 2nd app into 2nd N7600 radio and the Rx/tx on another radio.

From a website.

Cross Band Repeater from Network Channel to Analog Channel
(Android Only)
Join any network channel, turn on 'Relay Mode' function.

1-When you receive an analog signal, it will be transmitted to the network channel at the same time.

2-When you receive a network channel signal ,it will be transmitted to the analog signal.

E.g : Channel 1 info

438.500( Analog )

VERO Channel(En) (Network )

When the Radio receive the analog signal 438.500 MHz,the VR-N7500 will be transimt the signal in VERO Channel . All people in VERO Channel will hear the voice from 438.500 ,if any people answers in VERO Channel, it will tranmit to 438.500MHz,so user at 438.500Mhz can hear the voice from Vero Channel.

Oh I see, it would take 2 VR-N7500 radios to do what I had in mind... I see how that works now. I still wish they would add VOX to the app so I could do it with a tablet, K cable, and a HT I already have. Rather than buying a second VR-N7500. But I see what they did there. Sell more radios lol! Well played Vero, well played.

That is the only way it will work.

Unless you go app to network into app and then out via app to radio. So you should be able to do with one radio and 2 phones running the app.
Sounds like you will testing.

The canakit is a good idea. With that I could bypass the HT app network channels for that matter and use something more user friendly like Zello that does exactly what I have in mind. I've used Zello for this with great success with other radios.
