Issues Sending NTS Radiograms Over APRS to NTSGTE from the VR-N7500

I've tried to send radiograms over APRS with NTSGTE from the VR-N7500 without success. The details on how to do that are here https://nts2.arrl.org/ntsgte-an-aprs-nts-gateway/.

The bot acknowledges the N# line and my radio hears the reply, so I know it can hear me and I can hear it. After that things break down. I get a generic "Not understood" error for all lines after the first. Looking at APRS.fi I can see others are able to use the bot just fine. I have tried other APRS bots, most notably WXBOT, and not run into any issues.

I'm scratching my head here. Has anyone else tried sending NTS radiograms to NTSGTE from the VR-N7500 and run into issues? I'm hoping someone else can reproduce the issue.
