Disable APRS

As much as I like the APRS functionality I need to know how to disable it.

I was volunteering at a county function where a Directed Net was in use.  The APRS functionality cut out many portions of the transmissions on the Net.

Is there a way to disable the APRS?  I've tried all kinds of settings changes but can't seem to disable APRS.

Sounds like you have not fixed the APRS channel to the memory channel you have chosen...
This stops the radio txing APRS on you last used channel. 
The other option is to remove that memory.

This was an issue in early versions but the fix was done a couple of years ago...
