Help us monitor Monarchs! The annual Vermont Mission Monarch Blitz (July 31 to August 15, 2026) starts at the end of the week and I hope some of you can visit a patch of milkweed nearby you. This is about the easiest protocol ever and anyone can do it! https://val.vtecostudies.org/missions/vermont-mission-monarch-blitz/.
All you have to do is:
1. Find milkweed
2. Verify presence of monarchs (examine each milkweed plant for eggs and caterpillars)
3. Write your observations on a field datasheet
4. Sign up at Mission Monarch and share your data
