The Eco Party is an enjoyable way to examine household practices and consider alternatives that reduce impact on the earth. This may seem like an unlikely topic for a Foodies meeting but our choices in food consumption accounts for a large portion of household waste.

Before arriving, please fill out this checklist outlining practices in your home related to energy, water, solid waste, and household chemicals and bring it with you. Catherine Plaxton, a trained volunteer, will facilitate an interactive, two-hour discussion on opportunities to make your home more earth-friendly based on the checklist. There will not be a sales pitch at the end!  The Eco Party is a 2 hour workshop so we will go a half hour over our usual time. Even if you need to leave early you'll still learn a lot!

That is a terrific quiz (and not only because I scored well)! I would
quibble with some of their assertions about household cleaners (since
well-used bleach allows even cold water to be used as an effective
disinfectant against both salmonella and escherichia coli) but I
definitely encourage even folks who don't plan to attend to check it
out. A good score is great but an IMPROVING score is even better.
