NRC Annual Assessment of ENVY (Entergy Nuclear Vt Yankee)

During the Open House, NRC staff will meet informally with Federal, State, and
local officials and the public concerning the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's
assessment of the safety performance of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power
Station (VY) for calendar year 2009, and the role of the agency in ensuring
safe plant operations. In addition, a number of information stations will be
available to address a broad range of questions associated with Vermont Yankee.

 

The public meeting will contain brief presentations on the assessment of the
safety performance of VY for 2009, the NRC groundwater contamination task
force, and the inspection of the Entergy response to the demand for information
issued to VY.

 

Following the presentations, NRC staff will respond to questions from the
public and elected/appointed officials.  

 

For the safety of attendees, the number of individuals will be limited to that
permitted by local government fire code requirements.
