Dear All:

News-
India’s blind cricket team battle odds ahead of T20 WC.
In the quiet bylanes of the national capital’s Lodhi Estate, at the Delhi
Tamil Education Association’s (DTEA) senior secondary school’s ground, an
enthusiastic and confident bunch of Indian cricketers have been busy giving
finishing touches to their preparation for the challenging World Cup T20
tournament.
Don’t get confused! The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Indian
Cricket Board (BCCI) have no plans to have back-to-back T20 World Cups
after the immense success of the tournament the previous year. And, to
further clarify things, the Indian team is well and truly in Kanpur to take
on the visiting English side in the first of the three-match T20I series.
This passionate and lively bunch of cricketers are part of India’s
17-member Blind Cricket squad, readying itself for the second edition of
the World Cup T20 for Blind, which will kick-start in Delhi on January
29 with the inauguration ceremony. The league matches will begin the
following day with the defending champions India locking horns with
Bangladesh in their tournament opener at the capital’s IIT Ground.

National Anthem norms for disabled
New Delhi: Differently-abled people, who are unable to stand, will have to
display “maximum attentiveness” while persons with hearing disabilities and
those visually challenged will have to stand up when the national anthem is
played at cinema halls or at a public function. These are part of the
guidelines issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The
only category for which there is some relaxation is people with
intellectual disabilities. Source:
