1. Higher EDU Exam patterns blind to visually impaired
*Most questions in the papers set nearly always have options that require
visualisation, leaving visually impaired students at a loss, even with a
writer*
Education and giving exams is no easy task for the impaired. And, those
setting the papers seem oblivious to the issues plaguing these students,
especially those attempting higher education tests.
Questions where it is necessary to see a diagram, figure, bar graph or
chart are a bane for these students, even if they have a writer explaining
it to them. And, question papers never take this into account.

2. Radio city uses Power of Radio to light up life of a Mumbaikar
In a heart-warming gesture, Mumbai City responded to fulfil the dreams of
Nikita Shukla, a visually impaired law student. When Nikita visited Radio
City studios to collect her contest prize, she narrated her story to RJ
Sucharita, who took her story on air and revealed it to the heart of the
city on her show 11 se 2 wala Mumbai Masala.

3. This startup is ensuring a fulfilling social life for the
differently-abled
Even in metros like Delhi and Mumbai, only a handful of places offer
disabled-friendly infrastructure. And there is little, if any, information
available on such places in a structured fashion. The result—families and
friends have to either leave behind those with disability for the outing,
or settle for something that accommodates them. In 2014, BillionAbles was
started, a venture that aims to enhance accessibility for persons with
disabilities.
