The research student position is connected to an e-learning research initiative at Mid Sweden University in Östersund, Sweden. The research task of the licentiate will be carried out in the frame of the university’s e-learning research group, focusing on education and informatics. The employment is equivalent to two years full-time studies and aims to lead up to a Licentiate degree. The employment may be extended to a Doctoral degree, provided that additional funding is obtained.

Today, learning with the support of technology, often called e-learning, is a fact in virtually all higher education. At Mid Sweden University this is particularly evident considering the large number of students enrolled in online studies, but also by the campus programmes and courses using technical support to a great extent. That Mid Sweden University is conducting a strong and extensive research in the field of e-learning is therefore of strategic importance in order to ensure a long-term positive growth for the organization.
