The Danish software company QualiWare seeks a new employee, who would like to carry out an industrial research project as part of the MADE initiative entitled Manufacturing Academy of Denmark*) and in collaboration between DTU (professor Lars Hvam and others) and AAU (professor Charles Møller and others) and a number of industrial companies.
The objective of this Industrial PhD project is to develop a coherent set of theories, methods, model- and knowledge sharing tools integrated in a “Digital Manufacturing Architecture Framework”. The position as Solutions Developer comprises customer relations, requirements specifications and software development and is further described below.
The title of the Industrial PhD project: “Digital Manufacturing Architecture Framework”
Based on our existing modeling tools QualiWare wants to cooperate with industry and universities on research, development and implementation of theories, models and methods as well as model- and knowledge sharing tools for product- and production- and IT-modeling, integrated in a “Digital Manufacturing Architecture Framework”. The aim is to support a coherent modeling of product architecture, production architecture and IT architecture – thus creating a platform for “complexity management” and for an integrated configuration of both product and value chain. This will lead to an increase in productivity, competitiveness and growth within industrial companies.
Process understanding, user interfaces and requirements specifications
As one of QualiWare’s new Solution Developers you will become part of a team of developers. Based on QualiWare’s basis products you will design and program new solutions which help customers solve their business needs. You will, therefore, acquaint yourself thoroughly with customer needs and business processes, work with user interfaces and make the appertaining requirements specifications before you carry out the concrete development tasks in cooperation with our development team – or single-handedly. Your tasks are primarily solved from our office in Farum, with the possibility to travel to our development team in Ukraine or to specific international customers.
A theoretical foundation, business understanding and the wish for personal development
In order to transform business needs to concrete development tasks you must have a good understanding of and the desire to learn about the industrial company challenges and business models – including modeling of product architecture, production architecture and IT architecture. As one of QualiWare’s new Solution Developers you have an IT-related theoretical background at Bachelor level as a minimum and a relevant Master’s degree. In order to be able to solve your tasks, you will need technologies and programming languages like C#, ASP.NET, SQL databases, HTML, Javascript and jquery. It is an advantage if you are acquainted with user interfaces and the elaboration of requirements specifications in connection with development tasks. You are either recently qualified or you have a few years’ experience from a similar position. You master English at a high level, both written and spoken. You have an extrovert personality and like customer relations, you are independent and enterprising, and you are motivated by constantly developing you own skills and creating your own limits.
