I am searching for a 5 pin din, female prefably a plug but can use a
chassis mount.
This is for the new W4OT-3 APRS tnc. I have checked locally at Radio
Shack who can not even special order one, and Communications
International who did not have any.
Please check your parts bin and see if you may have one and if so
please give me a call
at 569-8151 or 538-6245(cell). Many thanks,
Wayne

Thanks John.
I ordered a couple this morning.

Buy the way, I have a 2 meter ssb radio know, TS-711A and also
Now have an TS-811A (which I need to find a tone board for).
All I have at the moment is vertical for 2 meter sideband.
Any nets around that I can try to check into and is 144.200 the calling
frequency?

I have some from the TNC gear I have, could lend you one if you want to get it up now, you can return it later or give me one of the new ones.

BTW how much was the one that was ordered again? Thinking I might order one and E-bay off all the old gear I have to cover 1 new one.

Wayne, I have a brand new "generic" tone board, if you're interested. Let me know.

Thanks Brian, I just ordered a couple and they should be in by the end of the week. I have

The tnc ready except for the din plug. I’ll call you as soon as I get it done so that we can make the

Tnc change at the site.

Welcome to 2m ssb. Shame on you...you HF person. Only kidding.
I have attached a net schedule that has two 2m ssb nets. Sundays 144.220 out
of Miami with Rich W4RCC as nc and on Wednesdays out of Daytona on 144.250.
George in Ponce Inlet (KI4FIA) generally is the nc.

THE PROBLEM IS: neither one has been on the air for several months. Richard
down in Miami (W4RCC) tells me he will start the net again sometime after
the first of the year when he finishes his tower replacement. As for the
Daytona net, I spoke to George (KI4FIA) a couple of months ago on 2m ssb but
no news about the net was available. Both nets were very active and use to
have a lot of participation. We will have to wait and see.

I have a brainer!!!! Let's start our own 2m ssb net. Only one problem, you
had better be horizontal with your antenna. I need to talk to you if you are
serious about 2m ssb. You do not need boomers with 20' booms unless you are
hurricane proof. All my antennas went thru 3 hurricanes with no problems.

By the way, I have attached some pics of a 2m 5 element yagi I am building
now. It has 10 dB of gain and is for 2m ssb. It has a 6 foot boom of 1"
square heavy wall aluminum for the boom and the elements are 3/8" od heavy
wall aluminum tubing. All hardware is stainless and the design is my own.
All I have let to do is to assemble and attach the gama match, tune her up
and spray her with 6 coats of Krylon clear sealant. I bet this one will be
as good as one from M2, Mosley or another high priced antenna.

I attached some pics of what I have up now. I am going to stack another
A43011S UHF ssb yagi under the one I have now.

My apologies to the VBARC but as I have to go on an unexpected last minute
business trip, I will not be able to send the Tales of the Traesure Coast
out until after January 10th. I hope this doesn't cause any problems.

On a related note, I hope to be able to visit ARRL HQ on January 4th or 5th
and operate W1AW. Maybe I'll get to work someone back here!
