Some thoughts about the Dues

I have been hearing rumors about a new DUES STRUCTURE in the future.  Like last year it was given to the membership to opt out of the printed Spotlight, and after many (only some have written) realized the impact of this wish they had not done it.  

Now, I have been hearing comments that the portion of the dues directed to GRANTS, may also be optional and it is expected that since it is about $20 per member, many will also opt out on this as well.

This could bring the dues down to a bargain basement price of something like $25.  The $65 price is such a bargain considering the current pricing of most theater tickets.  But more important letting members pay only $25 so diminishes the commitment of potential membership to the volunteering to the theater community that I worry that any body may join as it does not mean a whole lot and the quality of potential ushers to the theaters will be greatly diminished.
