My apologies for this email being sent so late...Matt Peters and I had been talking about the work involved below and he asked me to send something out to the Grace folks, just in case they wanted
to help. Due to some events at work, this kind of fell through the cracks, but better late than never!
Quest is having what we're calling "Hospitality Sunday" this Sunday, September 7, where we will have a short worship service from 10:30-11, then plan to do grounds work around the church building from 11:00 to 12:00. We are more than happy to have any Grace members join us in this effort to clean up the flowerbeds, the Jubilee garden, and other areas in need of attention.
The announcement from their newsletter is below:
Hospitality Sunday - You Welcomed Me This Sunday, September 7th
Jesus was often criticized because he associated with outsiders. In fact, Jesus often identified himself with the stranger saying that if we welcomed others, we were welcoming him. This reality has been the heartbeat of Quest from the beginning, so as we prepare to welcome the community on September 13-14 for Questapalooza and our Fall Kick Off, we want to be prepared. So, join us for Hospitality Sunday as we prepare to not merely welcome strangers, but welcome Jesus himself!
After a shortened but powerful worship gathering, Questers are invited to do some hands on service to prepare the facility and grounds to welcome the community. Bring some gloves and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. There will be projects for people of all ages and we will be done by noon!
If you're planning to visit Quest for the first time, make sure to stop by the Guest Concierge in the main lobby and they'll direct you to all your needs! And don't forget to bring a friend!
