Bringing together three of the most relevant and dynamic contemporary voices and activists of environmental defense, peace and justice on the planet.
WINONA LaDUKE -- Harvard-educated economist, activist and author Winona LaDuke speaks to environmental justice from a Native American perspective. She is founding director of the White Earth Land Recovery Project. Oct. 12, 7pm, Taylor Little Theatre.
DERRICK JENSEN -- Endgame author, teacher and philosopher Derrick Jensen explores how the modern industrial economy is fundamentally at odds with the natural environment. Oct. 13, 7pm, Taylor Little Theatre.
Dr. VANDANA SHIVA -- Time magazine calls physicist, feminist and ecologist Vandana Shiva an environmental "hero," and Asia Week identifies her as on of the five most powerfulcommunicators in Asia. She was a 2005 Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Oct.14, 1pm lecture/ 3pm panel discussion, Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center.
