SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY FOR IMMIGRANT STUDENTS-

REMINDER: Next Meeting August 7th 4:00-7:00pm.

Education Parity Act 2007
(H 1197 / S 714)

Many immigrant students have grown up in
Massachusetts, excelled in our schools and are graduating with honors.

Yet every year, approximately 400 graduating seniors
from MA High Schools, with and without immigration status, are being
prohibited from the opportunity to pay college tuition at
Massachusetts resident rates.

The Education Parity Act is a solution to this
barrier to higher education.

next meeting is on TUESDAY, AUGUST 7th.

any of your collegues/networks working with immigrant students (youth
workers, religious leaders, teachers, counselors, etc.)

mapping and building our strategy to move this legislation forward
(one of our participants has generously offered to facilitate this
excercise)

2) Supporting immigrant students access to
higher ed in our schools: Many have expressed an interest in
organizing a workshop for area high school teachers and counselors in
the fall---join us to identify
the next steps to move this forward succesfully.
