Peace,
After much time, God has guided us to an awesome feature and the means to implement it:
There are several verse references within footnotes. We will now, IA, be able to, by moving the mouse over the reference, IA, have a popup menu display the available verse from the different translations of the specified scripture to click on and have displayed in the current window or in a new window. What this means, is that when there is a reference to 39:45, for example in a footnote, by moving the mouse over the verse reference(which would be highlighted like a link on a web page on the Internet with an underline), it would pop up a menu which would allow you to view the verse in the current display window or to launch a new display windows from the AEV or from any other Qu'ran translation if the .xml file for that translation is on the user's computer(ie., AEV, Yusuf Ali Translation, Muhamaduk Pickthall translation, etc)
Additionally, for references to other scriptures in footnotes, the USV Browser will recognize that it refers to another scripture(eg., a Bible verse) and bring up a listing of the available .xml packs present on the users computer of the various different versions of the referenced scripture(ie., King James Bible, American Bible, etc.) which would be available and allow the user to view it in the current display window or to launch a new display window. By directly clicking on the hyperlink, the verse will display from the default source.
Even more exciting will be the ability to hard code reference links via a systematic entry method of references to the AEV or any other .xml based scripture on your computer within your own "Questions, Answer, & Perspectives" section, which would be locally available as well as globally available via a universal "Questions, Answers, & Perspectives" based off of the Internet.
There will also be a chat client built in to facilitate Qu'ran Studies as well as other scriptural studies available to all users of USV Browser that are on the Internet.
The theme of the software is the back cover of the Maroon AEV Qu'ran. "PROCLAIMING One unifying religion for all the people." etc.
This is a great way for the message of Submission to God ALONE to be spread and will also increase the communities understanding of the scriptures sent by God previously, IA...
Another Official Specifications Requirements is in the making, IA.
-Will require additional inputs on search facilities once the Specifications Requirements has been released, IA...
I propose, IA, an initiative of a committee for the dissection, debate, and "official" approval of further work. IA, things will get a bit technical, but, with more of a system of approval, we can get moving further and faster. The USV Framework Committee Whoever has the ability to be here, you are welcome, IA.
The following is the proposed means of development:
1) Official Specifications Requirements to be released
2) Official Specifications Requirements to be approved by the proposed USV Framework Committee.
3) Official XML Schema released
4) Official XML Schema approved by the USV Framework Committee.
5) The conversion(typecasting) of various available scriptures into the approved XML Schema.
6) A Unified Modeling Language(UML) Model of the USV (Framework) Browser developed.
7) The above UML Model to be approved by the USV Framework Committee.
8) Development of the USV Browser as per the approved UML Model.
I believe that we are in exciting times, IA!
God Bless,
shree
PS. A great example that I see of the USV Browser is that I've picked up the ISKON Translation of the Bhaghvad Gita and have read it in light of the Messenger(Qu'ran) without reading the purports(their version of footnotes), as suggested by a fellow Submitter. Thus far, I have been able to see ONLY the message of Submission to God ALONE. With the USV Browser, as God has Guided thus the vision, users will be able to read the ISKON Bhaghvad Gita WITHOUT the purports(footnotes) on display - COMPLETELY CHANGES THE WHOLE MEANING! With the USV Browser in a fully active state with Internet access, the reader can have a chat with a Submitter, who would, IA, Guide the user through the correct understand of their respective scriptures, IA. God tells us to Uphold the Previous Scriptures. MA!
PS. Hopefully, the above is digestible and I'ven't, IA, sent any heads spinning around.
TECHNICAL (ATTENTION FAIZ and any others):
1) will use dom4j to build the xml object into the memory from the individual .xml files with no requirement to further create objects to represent the individual scriptures, IA... I've looked at a few performance comparisons, but, can't conclusively pick any with absolute certainty. I concluded, May God Guide Me, that dom4j was our best option.
2) will use xpath to make direct references to specific verses from specific scriptures with the ability to specify a specific version(eg., AEV) of a scripture type(Qu'ran, Bible, Gita, etc).
3) when a reference is present, we can use a hyperlinkevent to observe onmouseovers to pop up the pop up menu, IA...
