Peace,

As we progress in development of the USV Framework, some attention to foresight comes to hand.  It is essential to develop the Framework so that it may accomodate all potential scripture possibilities.  This requires a study of the structures of the various scriptures(authorized and non authorized by God) so that they may be built into the XML schema and thereby, the software developed to accomodate the existance of those difference.  Let me give an example to illustrate, IA...

Some XML(and, even those who try NOT to comprehend will understand, IA.  It's too simple to understand, eh...).

XML is a simple text file with elements(ie., <scripture></scripture>) that defines the contents located within the opening(ie., <scripture>) and closing(ie., </scripture>) tags(elements).

Example For the Qu'ran(NOT EXACT - JUST TO ILLUSTRATE):

<scripture type="quran" title="Quran : The Final Testament : Authorized English Version" translator="Rashad Khalifa" language="English">
<content no="1" type="chapter" name="Sura 1 : Al-Fateha (The Key)">
<verse no="1">
<subtitle>First Verse of Qu'ran displays Math Miracle</subtitle>
<versetext>In the Name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful</versetext>
<foofnote>This verse consists of 19 letters</footnote>
</verse>
<verse no="2">
<versetext>Praise be to GOD, Lord of the universe.</versetext>
</verse>
<verse no="3">
<versetext>something</versetext>
</verse>
....
<verse no=7>
<versetext>the path of those whom You blessed; not of those who have deserved wrath, nor of the strayers.</versetext>
</verse>
</chapter>
</scripture>

So, that is, in short, the concept behind XML.  God Willing, some of you may have understood it.  The thing is that we're trying to, God Willing, build an all encomposing XML Schema(Structure) which can include all possibilities of scriptures.  So far, we have,

<scripture type= name= translator= description=>
<content tupe=Introduction/Book/text of <scripture>/Appendices/Index/Glossary>
<chapter no= name=>
<verse no=>
<subtitle></subtitle>
<versetext></versetext>
<footnote></footnote>
</verse>
</chapter>
</content>
</scripture>

I request people think about what are other possible structures that our XML file would have to accomodate.  For example, if we have the Bible, we would then use the following tag which we do NOT for the Qu'ran.

<content type="book" name="Gospel of Mark">
<content type="Introduction>
Some text representing an introduction to the book, Gospel of Mark, from the Bible.
</content>
<content type="text">
<chapter no="1">
<verse no = "1">
<versetext>the text equal to the first verse of Chapter 1 of the text of the Book of the Gospel of Mark from the Bible</versetext>
</verse>
</chapter>
</content>
</content>

For example, I do NOT know if it's allowed in XML rules to have two nested <content> elements/tags in XML.

Well, we need to think of the structures of the various other scriptures as expressed in the example of the Bible regarding the presence of books and make considerations to accomodate the presence of them.

Thanks,
God Bless,

Shree Mulay

PS.  Attached is the XML file of the current AEV Qu'ran compressed using 7Zip available at http://www.7-zip.org
