Good morning, families of Unity High,
2. Chaperones Needed - Calling all 11th Grade Family Members! - On Friday, December 21st, Unity High's 11th graders will participate in an educational field trip to kick off the holiday break. Students will visit one of three NYC destinations: 1. the Metropolitan Museum of Art; 2. the Whitney Museum and High Line; or 3. the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Urban Glass, a glass blowing studio in Fort Greene. To make these trips possible, we need four parent/guardian volunteers to chaperone. The trips will take place between 9-2pm. Contact Ms. Bonaminio, 11th Grade Team Leader, at abona...@unityprep.org with questions and/or your interest in chaperoning. Thanks in advance!
4. Reminder! Refer a Student to Unity and Collect your Google Laptop! Extension to 11/30! - We have a few seats available in grades 6, 7, 8, and 9. Simply refer a student who then enrolls in our school and be eligible for a Google laptop, which will certainly be valuable to your child’s educational pursuits both in school and out of school. Applicants can apply online at unityprep.schoolmint.net. Contact Mr. Doscher, Unity’s Director of Operations, with questions at cdos...@unityprep.org or (347) 746-1575.
5. Thank you for Participating in Last Saturday's Community Service - Our collaboration with the non-profit organization, New York State of Mind, was a mighty success. Check out the attached photos to fully appreciate the experience and its impact on our community. A big thank you to all those who took part!
6. Reminder! Earn Off-Campus Lunch Privileges! - Unity High Students are now eligible to grab lunch in the neighborhood instead of having lunch in our building. To earn the privilege of dining off-campus for lunch, students must meet the following criteria in addition to having a parent/guardian written permission:
Eligibility is reviewed every 3-4 weeks. The next review will take place on November 30th. Student eligibility status will be updated after each review.
7. Congrats to Unity Marathoner, Ms. Cirelli! - This past weekend, Ms. Cirelli completed the Philadelphia Marathon. To be clear, she ran 26.2 miles! Ms. Cirelli trained hard over the past several months - her hard work paid off as she ran a very strong race! Please congratulate Ms. Cirelli when you see her!
