Welcome back and happy new year! Quick update--look out for a follow up questionnaire later this week ahead of the call

AB CALL NEXT TUES 1/15 8PM EST DIAL IN TO FOLLOW

Three Items
  1. Tutoring
  2. School Funding
  3. Winter Cleanup

Tutoring: Off to a great start in 2019 with excellent tutor attendance. It is worth noting that students attended despite still being on winter break! Which one of us would have done that in HS?! We expect even better student attendance for the next week

Ask: What is working/what is not working? Feel free to shoot V+me an email; any thoughts around student experience (alignment of material; depth of overview) to tutor experience (schedule, ability to engage student) would be of particular interest.

Funding: The school raised $260k in december primarily from private donors. With that being said, Unity will continue to have funding needs as the school outgrows the current Driggs location to fully accommodate grades 6-12 for next year; while discussions are still preliminary, one option is to take the larger school next door.

Ask: We will need to raise substantially more funding. For next week's call please bring questions/views on the following options:

(1) expand spring trivai night. this has become our "thing"; last year raised $10k
(2) crowdfunding campaign; sal/remi/others have experienced impressive numbers on facebook etc
(3) alternative option (something else)

Winter cleanup: Let's use our network to help clean up the school! In the past, Michael Brown managed to convince his colleagues to join him on a friday, as part of a corporate volunteer effort

The ask: Can you sign up your work team? Is there a friend group you think is up to the task? We can definitely make this fun and cleaning can be therapeutic (just ask sal).
