Hello,

I added three new short books to the web page.

  • Polar bears for beginning readers
  • Trees for beginning readers
  • Bats for beginning readers
These are all set up so you can print them out and cut them with a normal stapler.

Gwen,

I'll get the beginning readers printed out and run them by Laura on Tuesday -- see which ones she likes and which ones she doesn't, determine her ability to read them, etc.

Was sitting here cutting out green leaves (Book Fair Project), and started thinking about subjects for unit studies that I know Laura would benefit from (and other kids as well?)

Spiders
The Seasons
The Julian Calendar - Months of the Year
The 5 Senses
Holidays (Why do we have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc)
People who Help ( Firefighters, Police Officers, EMTs, Doctors, Nurses, etc)

I could come up with more, but I dont want to overwhelm. ;)

Was thinking of perhaps doing the Pumpkin Patch on either Friday, October 27th or Thursday, October 26th.  I know Laura would love to look for pumpkins with Anna and Quinn ( the card to them was completely her idea, she actually stood over my shoulder while I wrote the address on the card).  If we want to go on Tuesday, the 24th, I could do that -- but both Thursday and Tuesday will have to be after 3:15pm or so (have to pick up Laura and Kyler from school).
