Hi Everyone,

I would like to re-do the old episodes. Since many of you worked through the episodes, how would you have felt if suddenly they were changed? Or, how would you have felt if there was a small recording that said, "I'm redoing the episodes so they're off-line for now, but they'll be up for Bloom's Day!"

Would you wait?

Thanks for your input, if you have the time!

I think you should go for it, if you feel you want to do them
differently. It's only like a second draft. It could also introduce
the podcast to new listeners too

cheers

Sounds like a real pain in the neck for you, but if it means a more
enriching James Joyce experience, then go for it!
Do we really have to wait till Bloomsday? Why not just post them as you
go? I only tuned in a couple weeks ago, so I missed most of the early
episodes anyway. It would be nice to have a chance to catch up at a
reasonable pace.

Well, in the meantime, I'll be able to finish the Oxen in the Sun, or
get caught up on my Limericks.
Here's the latest, written yesterday...

"Lestrygonians"
There was an old Hebrew in search of a bite
In the lunchroom he witnessed a horrible sight
With the animals feeding
He felt like excreting
But a sandwich he managed to eat with delight

I think that the mistakes and evolution of the podcast is what makes
it interesting and different (besides the Joyce). There isn't really
anything wrong with the old ones. I didn't have any problem
understanding the readings or anything. I think that you don't have to
if its to much of a pain.

Ultimately, the decision is yours. But for what my opinion might be
worth, I could afford to go buy a professional recording of Ulysses.
However, I have never listened to a "book on tape." What keeps me
listening to you reading Ulysses is the personality you bring to each
podcast. Even though I stay behind in listening because I do want to
listen to every bit of Ulysses read by you, I don't find what I'm
listening to dated in any sense. I essentially see all of these
episodes with their imperfections, mispronunciations, asides,
commentary in Italian, additional poetry, suggestions for further
reading, and the like, as a work of art. A work of "life as art," if
you will. I would hate for you to replace any of the episodes before
I had an opportunity to listen to them. I would really appreciate
your leaving the old episodes up, if you decide to re-record the
earlier episodes.

Keep making art with your own spirit and enthusiasm.
