Thanks!
My husband eats completely different than I do. I have been on the UM
plan for so long that I don't have cravings (or, if I do, it is rare
and I can feed it) so I can have food in the house that I don't eat.
But for meals try to stick to meats and veggies cooked without sauces
and butter (olive oil is a staple I can't do without). I find that I
spend less on food than when I ate a lot of processed food because I
eat smaller portions. I am not filling up on empty food. Fiber
(veggies) and protein (meat) are more filling. I like Dr Hyman's
latest suggestion to visit local farmers' markets for fresh produce.
I have 2 grown daughters and 9 grandkids (7 who visit frequently) and
they have become accustomed to not having sugary junk at my house. It
is a difficult transition, but can be done.
