Hi All,

With the upcoming Maverick Meerkat launch, it appears that Ubuntu-PH is targetting October 16. I think we should have one as well, even a simple get together, install fest, what have you.

The list is currently sparse for now. Maybe we can start inviting others to join in soonest.

What do you guys think?

i've sent email to Open-ITLUG and KLUG in case people wanna join in. However, not sure how the kluggers will take it.

I'm thinking of the following:

- Where's the venue ?
- Should we get sponsors?
- What will we be doing on the event?
- How to promote this among the academe?

Currently, Allan Caeg is needing help on the event program for the Manila launch.

Regards!

I'm thinking:

- presenting/showcasing Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat, and the new things
- the new Ubuntu Manual
- installfest
- presentations / how tos

for how tos, I can showcase :

- using Gnote with Dropbox (auto-sync, autobackup of Gnotes entries)
- XBMC
- Gnome-Shell
