Hello group. Is it possible to ask for Ubuntu cds to be given as
freebie during a convention? more or less 200 copies?

Depends on the availability. We can coordinate this with UbuntuPH (main). When do you guys need them?

What will be the event? :)

Currently, Maverick is yet to be released come October. Hopefully it will be available in ShipIt afterwards. It will be good to make the request ahead of time.

I'll also ask around in the UbuntuPH main.

that's around 2 or 3 months from maverick's release. I'll ask around if the media can be available by that time. Although I suspect not yet. Usually (basing on past experiences) media arrives after 4 months usually.

If it's impossible... might as well suggest to them to have a burn fest, or use unetbootin for flash drives... Anyway maybe someone from this group would like to talk about ubuntu during the event, to indulge the delegates to try ubuntu. :D

Sure. I can provide the ISOs later. Will also let you guys know once I inquire UbuntuPH main regarding media availability as well. Just send a formal invite and I'll be happy to talk about Ubuntu. Better yet, you can invite Botp to talk about something else as well :). Jon.Doblados might be interested. Not sure.

Speaking of Ubuntu talks, the list still haven't agreed much for the upcoming Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat release meetup. Allan Caeg of UbuntuPH is keen on having a live interaction between Manila and Zamboanga. If CDO can do the same, it will be great.

As for the venue, I'm not sure yet if MPSU will be available. I'll see if I can pay a visit to a friend in Liceo in case they might be interested to become a venue sponsor.

I'm also eyeing industry sponsors who can let us borrow an LCD projector :D. hehehehe. Or perhaps some snacks or marketing freebies? (HINT HINT at PLDT and others) hehehehe
