UbiSunrise'07 Ubiquitous/Pervasive Season於中華民國九十六年九月三十日(星期日)假台大資工館R101舉行『UbiSunrise '07 '活動』。本此邀請到 講師 朱浩華 副教授。 敬邀您的蒞臨共襄盛舉，期許各方夥伴獲益。

 講師介紹
 
 朱浩華 副教授 ，現任職於台大資訊工程學系副教授。

Hao-hua Chu is an associate professor at Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Taiwan University. He received his BS(1994) in Computer Science from Cornell and PhD (1999) in Computer Science from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. From 1999-2000, he was a senior software engineer at Intel. From 2000-2003, he was a project manager at (NTT) DoCoMo USA Labs. His research areas are in pervasive/ubiquitous computing, sensor/wireless network, and human computer interaction.

  議題背景與簡介

Pervasive computing (or ubiquitous computing) is a grand vision for computing where smart digital technology can seamlessly and invisibly weave into the designing pervasive computing, or so-called the smart environment versus the smart people approaches.The smart environment approach focused on "automation" in which digital technology is used to replace people in performing their everyday tasks. On the other hand, the smart people approach focuses on "mediation" in which digital technology is not used to replace people's actions, but help people better perform their everyday tasks.Persuasive computing adapts the second design approach. By embedding digital technology into our environments, persuasive computing hopes to modify and shape our everyday behaviors toward smarter people.In this talk, I will give an introduction (with lots of examples) on pervasive computing, persuasive computing, and my experience as a technologist working with human experts in interdisciplinary research.
