Senior UX/UI Designer job description

PURPOSE 

In the role of Senior UX/UI Designer, you will be hands on with all aspects of the user experience process, at the same time you will have a role in the development and maintenance of the UX process for the company, overseeing the execution of UX strategies. You will play a key role in conceptualizing and designing creative and innovative solutions for a wide range of clients. Your role will be 2 parts UX design and 1 part UI design. 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Have a strong passion for design and user experience 

  • Lead requirements gathering, persona development, strategy and conceptualization for key client projects 

  • Build strong working relationships with internal and client stakeholders, be a trusted advisor 

  • Provide mentorship to UX team members 

  • Brainstorm and collaborate with team members to sketch, prototype and refine interaction models 

  • Produce innovative and compelling user experiences for a range of clients through an iterative design process 

  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation including personas, user stories, wireframes, interactive prototypes, use case diagrams and site maps 

  • Participate in user research and usability testing as needed 

  • Conduct competitive and heuristic reviews 

  • Participate in quality assurance by reviewing product in progress and providing heuristic evaluation of product 

  • Other duties as assigned 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

  • 5-8 years of professional experience in UX and UI design 

  • Experience designing interfaces for multiple screen sizes and devices 

  • Experience designing for content management systems 

  • Expert knowledge of tools for design, user experience and prototyping 

  • Strong understanding of current web design standards and accessibility requirements 

  • Strong experience with SEO, SEM, and Google Analytics

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong client facing and presentation skills 

  • Strong desire to learn and a willingness to facilitate knowledge sharing with department, project teams and the company
