Dear uNAVSA Community,

The Union of North American Vietnamese Student Associations (uNAVSA) announces its call for the 2009-2010 Collective Philanthropy Project (CPP) Director who will be working in conjunction with the uNAVSA staff and this year's CPP beneficiary, Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation (VAHF).

The Collective Philanthropy Project was created in 2005 to provide a medium for youths across North America to work together behind one charitable cause for the Vietnamese community.  The CPP focuses its charitable efforts on a single non-profit organization, giving that organization a chance to network and connect with students across the country, while giving the youth opportunities to take on leadership roles in supporting the beneficiary.

The 2009-2010 CPP beneficiary, Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation (VAHF), is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 with the goal of restoring Vietnamese Americans’ lost identity. VAHF's mission is to spread awareness about Vietnamese Americans by collecting, preserving, promoting, and celebrating Vietnamese American history and heritage.  uNAVSA will collaborate with VAHF to support its “500 Oral History Project,” which encompasses collecting 500 personal stories of Vietnamese Americans, archiving it, and publishing it as an anthology.

For more information on VAHF, please visit VAHF's website and view VAHF video.

Please view the attached CPP Director Application.  The deadline to apply is Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11:59 PM PST.  Should you have any questions regarding the application, please feel free to direct your questions to ebo...@unavsa.org.

Thank you for your interest!

uNAVSA Staff
