Here are some things that I have been asked about lately and wanted to let you know of these opportunities.

 

1)Valentine’s Sunset on February 14: Share the sunset with a sweetie on the 16th floor of our First Avenue dwelling.  Great views of the bay as if at “Mr. A's”, downtown, airport and the ocean. Champagne, hors d’oeuvres, candlelight, music and chocolate will add to your romantic experience!  Sunset is at 5:30 PM but you are welcome any time after 4:30.  Singles and friends without sweeties are also welcome. 4:30 - 7:30PM--3535 1st Avenue, San Diego—4-5 spots available. Free to young adults, normally $30. This is a Dining for Dollars event (D4$). Contact Dave Hunt uusa...@san.rr.com.

 

2)Co-Leaders for D4$!  Take the reins on one of the church’s fundraisers! Contact lisarh...@cox.net if you are interested.

 

3) Journey Toward Wholeness Sunday Service on February 15.  From Intern Adam Dyer: Just a heads up, we've been talking about the JTW service on the 15th and we're hoping to have involvement from the Young Adults.  Claudia is part of our planning committee already…The name for the service is "Full Spectrum...Full Circle" and our message is passing on the baton to the next generation.

Let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions [of others who are interested] especially in light of the success of Be the Change with the group.

 

4)OWL begins on Friday, February 20. We have changed the dates slightly and I will send a separate email once we have those confirmed. Some of you know that we talked on Sunday about postponing but we are going ahead with it!

 

5)PsycheSoma on February 13—6:30 pm, simple soup first then explore the bodymind connection with Alice

 

6)Ruth van Leeuwen’s Celebration of Life/Memorial Service—Some of you were present when Ruth visited with our group and I thought you might want to be present for this. Maggie Marshall is looking to hire a few people to help with the reception. If interested, let me know and I’ll put you in touch.

 

7)Soulful Sundown on March 28 at 6:30 pm. There’s a concert in the Meeting House after if you want to stay for it. It’s a benefit for our Partner Churches in Transylvania and The Philippines.

 

8)District Assembly—Chandler, AZ—April 24, 25

 

9)Young Adult Retreat at Camp Stevens—May 15-17

 

10)GENERAL ASSEMBLY—a whole bunch of UUs at one place—it’s awesome—June 24-28. Scholarships are available and the church’s generosity offering will go toward this for one Sunday in January. PORTLAND, OR. Would love to be there with you.
