Hello all,

I am planning on moving this fall and would like to move some place
where medicaid allows you to hire your own private care. I am not a
big fan of agencies sending random people. I heard CA is set up like
this, but I am thinking about FL, TX, or AZ. Anyone who can share any
info with me about this can reach me at, rcgr...@gmail.com. I hope
everyone is doing well!

Thank you,

Ryan Grimes

My personal opinion - Arizona doesn't do an adequate job of this, but I only
hear the negative sides when people are complaining. I do not think AZ
offers the best services for anyone in need - there is way too much of a
Western & Republican attitude that everyone needs to independently fend for
themselves.

New York,  specifically Erie County provides and offers great programs - but you have to like snow!

Where are you coming from? How much flexibility do you have with services, etc. California has some really good programs if your needs happen to match what is offered in your area.

Re: Power Soccer, on the other hand, if you're Division I...Hollister is a GREAT place to live! :)

Seriously, your best bet may be to contact a Regional Center and review your needs with what is available in the area. If they cannot help you, they may be able to refer you to someone who can. They often coordinate services for people whose diagnosis qualify for their services. They have their finger on the pulse of most services in any particular area. The closest one here is the San Andreas Regional Center in Gilroy, Calfiornia.

Let us know if you want to contact them and need help to do that.

Good luck in your search.

Take care
Susan
