I am Tucked
Inside a thicket,
Waiting
For mother muse
To supply the inspiration.
The children of the thicket
Raced atop the trees,
They raced into holes
And to other hiding places,
Watching me with curiosity.
In their minds
Wondering
If I am normal,
'Cause I encroached.

The holy writ says;
"These mountains must be removed".
My folks prayed,
Yet
The mountains remained
Unmoved.
I brought out the explosives
And demolished the mountains.
(C)Chidi Anthony Opara
We longed for it,
Now
We have it.
We are stuck in this arena,
In this arena of macabre dance
With deranged drummers
And singers of sordid songs.
We must dance the dance,
The macabre dance,
The dance of death.
Another anniversary of birth.
Queen Lizzy,
The last
But not the least
Of the lion's cubs.
The one with the most resemblance,
The most ferocious,
The lioness with a mane.
Happy birth anniversary
Queen Lizzy.

“Nature and Nature's laws lay hid in night:
God said, Let Newton be! and all was light.”
All was light, but not everywhere in Nigeria, right?
They say that “Faith can move mountains” - mountains of difficulties....
The folks prayed for a miracle, and what happened?
“No-Nonsense Chidi
brought out the explosives
And obliterated the mountain”
Heroes,
Real heroes,
Unsung,
They live for others.
They toil all day
For others,
Often without food.
They toil all night
For others,
Often without sleep.
Heroes,
Real heroes
Unsung,
They live for others.

Youth-man Chidi,
Here is some Divine Poetry
According to John :
“In the beginning was The Word
And The Word was with God
And The Word was God.”
There was Paradise Lost, followed by Paradise Regained
(just as you just regained your sanity, your normal state of mind )
BTW, Youth-man Chidi,
There's the spoken word
There's the Dylanesque word
Which is sung - there's the word
Kun - according to the Holy Quran
The Mother of all that's manifested.
Youth-man Chidi,
You have a tendency of wanting to get us worried
Thank God, a poetic thought can do the trick
Gil Scott Heron asked this ominous question:
“How would we ever get over losing our minds?”
According to Old man - Old Bill ( Wordsworth)
"We Poets in our youth begin in gladness;
But thereof come in the end despondency and madness.”
Perhaps, therefore, not unsurprisingly, “I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.”
For the Youth-man, way to go before the gladness evolves to madness.
In your case, we're happy that you've got the key
to regaining your sanity.
In my opinion, much good poetry is made in the period of gestation before you regain that which you believe was lost - just ask Blake, wherever he may be today.
Young Bobby :
“We
can hear the night watchman click his flashlight
Ask
himself if it's him or them that's insane “ ( Visions
of Johanna)
I was also on the brink of totally losing equanimity & sanity
when she smiled at me, brought myself back to reality:
Lord Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner...

Chidi,
Why are you so angry, and what are you angry about?
It's not a coincidence
that you mention Spiro Agnew's barnyard epithet because I got this
message on WhatsApp this afternoon, gee whiz, the very stuff of
poetry :
“I’m America, it is called impossible hamburger, it is plant-based but some of the ingredients is cardboard. I have tried it. It tastes just like meat; it tastes good but it’s not meat and Bill Gates is also trying to turn faeces and piss into food and water; he drank it live on TV the refined piss that he turned into drinking water. I saw it live. These people are aliens for real”
Good idea, we should all become vegetarians methinks, as we were originally meant to be.
BTW, that would be the glimmering of a beginning with regard to solving the coming Fulani Burger Crisis in Nigeria – the Fulani cattle being one of the greatest contributors to greenhouse gases and global warming, therefore, no more bull shit
BTW, I was expecting President Buhari to surprise everybody in Nigeria and everybody in the world ( the whole world) at the Glasgow COP26 and that he would have done so by honestly looking at the problem of global warming squarely in the eye and then thinking globally and acting locally, taking the bull by the horns he would have declared to Messrs Johnson, Macron, Biden, Kenyatta and others,
” looka here, this is not the time for some highfalutin big grammar: first of all, I want to apologise on behalf of Miyetti Allah, MACBAN, Fulani Cattle and my Brethren, the Fulani Herdsmen for their emissions contributions to global warming. Since we ( mankind) cannot survive in an overheated world and since charity begins at home, and we must lead by example, I hereby pass this presidential decree that from this moment on in my country Nigeria we shall all become vegetarians, from this day on, I declare, no more beef and no more bullshit, and I expect you all to follow in my footsteps...”
Chidi, if you agree that knowledge is king., then take note, this is Jesus speaking :
"It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God".
And yet, even some of the pastors want to be rich. Did you know this : The richest pastors in the world
Is it cash is king. Q.E.D. or that cash contributes to fulfilling The Great Commission?
It's A.D. 2021, and the rich man says, Money talks, bullshit walks
“If
religion were a thing that money could buy
The
rich would live and the poor would die” ( Peter,
Paul and Mary crying...
Cheer up! At least in the last twenty-four hours by merely adumbrating the importance of taking steps against global warming Barack Obama has redeemed himself from this image (sometimes, bullshit also talks...
Lastly, a prophetic warning about global warming ( a taste of hell):
“You look into the fiery furnace, see the rich man without any name”
