Middle East 'doomed' without Palestinian state, King of Jordan says ?
Living side by side with their neighbour, in perfect peace and tranquillity? Where ?
Keeping it short ( only 862 words)
Buoyant : Yesterday: Trump’s address to the Israeli Knesset

Cautious optimism : A good place to start is with Mustafa Barghouti and the brief comments he made in Fareed Zakaria’s latest GPS
For short term abject pessimism we have Born Again Barbarian who believes that “There Will Be No Peace In Israel until The Lord Jesus Christ returns to set up his kingdom.”
Long-term practical realism not based on religious dogmatism or salvific notions of Divine Intervention :
David Ben-Gurion was probably telling the unvarnished truth in this definitive statement beginning with “If I was an Arab” and ending with “ it's simple: we have to stay strong and maintain a powerful army. Our whole policy is there. Otherwise the Arabs will wipe us out."
Since the majority of Middle East earthlings subscribe to the belief that “Muhammad is the Last Prophet”, even at the risk of sounding fatalistic when talking about the future of the part of the world known as ”The Middle East", perhaps even non-Muslims could be curious about Islamic eschatology which in consonant with Christian eschatology, especially with Roman Catholic belief, focuses on the emergence of the Antichrist , known in Islam as Dajjal - and could be enthused that both Christians and Muslims are looking forward to the second coming of Jesus - and that according to some Islamic sources Jesus will arrive on the roof of the main mosque in Damascus to lead the Zuhr (noon) prayers, and sometime later will slay Dajjal. There’s much talk about The Battle of Armageddon which could be just around the corner, but I don’t think that when the Hashemite king says that without a Palestinian State, “we're doomed” he has Armageddon in mind…
On the whole, Muslims are also looking forward to the fulfilment of this supposedly sahih hadith which states that in the final battle between Muslims and Jews, “the Jews will be hiding behind trees” and that he Muslims will be victorious.
It may be important to bear that hadith in mind as a factor that contributes to sustaining hope just as Trump’s fundamentalist right-wing Christians in both the United States and Nigeria are looking forward to the construction of The Third Temple / Beit Hamikdash, which they believe will precipitate the return of Jesus…
We are to assume that even modern day doomsday prophets of the Middle East would like to keep hope alive
As the learned history professor professed, he's not a prophet :
“ I’m a historian and like other historians I’m not a fan of predicting or modeling the future. However, some things are quite easy to predict with a reasonable degree of certainty”
Rephrasing the problematique
can the Middle East survive
without a Palestinian State
for the next 100 years?
Have the events of October 7
or indeed of 911
and their bloody aftermaths
brought the United Nations closer
to establishing a Palestinian State ?
We’re all familiar with hostile rhetoric,
disguised antisemitism etc wrapped up
in terms such as ”The Zionist Entity”
and we all remember that the last time
Joe Biden was in Beit Aghion, Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu’s office in Jerusalem
when he made the sign of the cross he was probably
seeking Divine Protection; if he had been a
Muslim leader before entering Netanyahu’s office
he would have probably prayed
“Audhubillah min al-shaytan ir-rajeem”
In the free speech zone
rephrasing a home-grown variety
of a similar kind of absurdity
can Nigeria
survive the next 100
years without the creation of another entity
known as Biafra ? You don’t want to hear?
How did the Middle East fare the last 2500 years before the rebirth of Israel in 1948?
Re - Middle East 'doomed' without Palestinian state, King of Jordan says, off the cuff it’s clear that with or without a Palestinian State, as tensions decrease or movements father greater momentum towards the actualisation of a de facto and de jure birthing of a Palestinian State, in the meantime His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan or any of his Kingly successors would be standing on shaky ground, before such a solution is achieved and in the meanwhile, this much is also clear; Those who identify and are identified as Palestinians constitute a majority of Jordan’s population, secondly, recently in the military actions against Israel's enemies, Israeli military aircraft and missiles are given and have been given rights of passage to zoom over Jordan, thirdly, in his spectacular address to the Israeli Knesset yesterday in whichTrump glorified Israel , showered praises on Benjamin Netanyahu, even pleaded that Netanyahu be pardoned, not once was there any mention of a Palestinian State , and fourthly, for more than two decades now ( post-Oslo) Israpundit, some prominent Israeli ideologues, think-tanks and activists have been proposing and promoting the thesis that there is already a Palestinian State and it's known as Jordan .
