Grace Edema is an award-winning Nigerian journalist, author, and education advocate with over a decade of experience in storytelling and public-interest journalism.

A graduate of Sociology from Lagos State University (LASU), she has distinguished herself as a leading voice on the education beat at The PUNCH Newspapers, where her insightful reports have explored the challenges and triumphs within Nigeria’s education system.

Her work spans coverage of universities, secondary, and primary schools, focusing on issues such as access to quality education, teachers’ welfare, curriculum reforms, and students’ wellbeing.

Through in-depth features and human-interest stories, Grace has consistently amplified the experiences of students, educators, and policymakers, helping to shape national conversations around education reform.

In recognition of her excellence and impact, she was named Second Runner-Up at the 2021 Nigeria Media Merit Awards (NMMA) and First Runner-Up in the Education Reporting Category of the 2021 Diamond Awards for Media Excellence (DAME)—two of Nigeria’s most prestigious journalism honours.

Beyond journalism, Grace is a talented creative writer and the author of three books for young adults, which promote themes of resilience, self-discovery, and moral consciousness.

She also volunteers with NGOs and supports less privileged teenagers in pursuing education, using her platform to advocate for equity and youth empowerment.

Driven by curiosity, compassion, and a strong sense of purpose, Grace Edema continues to use her writing to inform, inspire, and ignite social change across Nigeria and beyond.
