ETL Developer
The client is a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry. The client is seeking a contract / full-time Extract Transform and Load (ETL Developer, specialized in Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse development.
Responsibilities:
·        Meet the expectations of business users by designing, developing and maintaining ETL jobs and related data warehouse models/objects/systems.
·        Participate in architectural and model decisions during the design and build phases of new projects.
·        Work closely with application developers and administrators to streamline data flows between internal/external systems and the data warehouse.
·        Coordinate offsite developers in Romania.
·        Cross-train other team members on ETL and data warehousing best practices.
·        Participate in Business Objects (BO) universe and report design & development.
·        Ensure appropriate documentation is produced for all development projects.
·        Communicate effectively with end users, Data Warehouse Developers and Business Intelligence Project Managers and Analysts.
Qualifications:
·        Very strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL, T-SQL and DTS
·        Ability to design and implement medium to large projects using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and BO Data Integrator.
·        BS, BA, or equivalent experience in IT related field.
·        5+ years experience in data warehouse development strongly preferred
·        Strong written and oral communication skills.
·        Clear understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts and best practices.
·        Experience with Sybase PowerDesigner or CA ERwin strongly preferred.
·        Experience with BO 6.x and XI R2, including universe and report design/maintenance.
·        Experience with data warehouse lifecycles and a strong understanding of the role of methodology / frameworks.
·        Understanding of relational and multi-dimensional data design and development techniques.
·        SQL Server DBA experience preferred.
·        Experience working in a PeopleSoft environment preferred.
·        Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services and Reporting Services is a plus.
·        Experience working as or with a business analyst is a plus.
·        Experience with process improvement and improvement methodologies a plus.
·        Experience with reporting and analytic tools and technologies such as Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Cognos, ProClarity, Microstrategy, etc, is a plus.
·        Knowledge of video gaming industry is a plus.
