Hope that the series of snow days have not too seriously affected your schedules. I'm writing to share that next Wednesday, February 18, UEP is hosting the first Colloquium session of the spring semester.
Aseem Inam, Director of TRULAB and Professor of Urbanism at The New School, investigates the question: How do we transform cities? He examines the thinking beneath processes of urbanism and proposes several fundamental shifts. These conceptual shifts are illuminated by critical analyses of transformative urbanism in Barcelona, Belo Horizonte, Boston, Cairo, Delhi, Karachi, Los Angeles, and Paris.
The event will be held in Sophia Gordon Hall, from 12:00 - 1:15 pm. Lunch will be provided.
You may be familiar with Aseem's Designing Urban Transformation. I'm attaching a sample article drawn from the Journal of Urban Design.
This semester's UEP Colloquium Series schedule is fairly light, so I encourage all who are able to attend every event. Hope to see you there
