Annual Four School + APA Planning Symposium
"Planning Practice: Projects and Partnerships"
Wed March 2, 2016, 5PM-7PM
MIT Media Lab, 6th floor, Cambridge MA
(MIT Building E14: <http://whereis.mit.edu/?go=E14>)
How do graduate planning schools work with APA and the Massachusetts
planning community to simultaneously address local issues and educate
our students? What are the benefits --- and tradeoffs --- of graduate
field projects, studios, and applied practicum classes? How are
students, alums, faculty, and APA members connecting to work together
through class activities, internships, research projects, guest
lectures, local events, and other activities --- and what
opportunities for collaboration should we be exploring in the future?
Speakers to include:
+ Mariana Arcaya, MIT, Urban Studies & Planning
+ Eran Ben-Joseph, MIT, Urban Studies & Planning
+ Kristin Kassner, MA Chapter, APA
+ Juan Leyton, Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative
+ Penn Loh, Tufts University, Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning
+ Paige Peltzer, Harvard Graduate School of Design (2016)
+ Kenneth Reardon, UMass--Boston, Urban Planning and Community Development
+ Erin Schaeffer, City of Salem, MA
Please come to this year's installment of the annual Four School + APA
Planning Symposium to hear from faculty, students, and practitioners --
and stick around for discussion and drinks following the program.
