Hey everyone,
We did it! We wanted to bring in an Israeli and a Palestinian, and we've succeeded! I don't believe in coincidences, especially given the odds of this miracle occurring...
UP3 is pleased to announce that we are collaborating with the Fletcher School for a day of urban planning in the Middle East. Before Mr. Folkman's Jerusalem talk at 8PM (which is our event: https://www.facebook.com/events/365370713579184/), we will be hearing from Mr. Masri, the developer behind Rawabi, which is the first planned Palestinian city. For more information and to RSVP to the Fletcher event: http://basharmasri.eventbrite.com/. There's a lot of complexity behind these talks and I am confident that we will all learn a lot at these events. Personally, I think that the best way to seek justice in Palestine is to invest in market-led ventures and grow their economy so that they don't seek out terror against Israel. It's more complicated than that but in essence, I think Rawabi is the epitome of productive solutions to this conflict and is an interesting case-study to explore from many social, economic, political, environmental, and physical interpretations. Of course, Jerusalem is a separate beast entirely...
We look forward to seeing you at both events!!! Let me know if you have any questions and please dress business casual.
