Hey all,
(UP3)coming things to look forward to:
1. Dira, Miles, Gabe, and I went to the warehouse on Friday to continue our exploration. We have a lot to share (Dira's great pictures, and Miles'+Gabe's great notes) so look forward to it! We definitely will be returning this week (come with us) and as a group will be turning this into our semester project. I encourage more people to come so that you can learn about this complex issue first-hand. (Also, thank you Max for working with the Institutional Review Board to approve our project).
2. Our Roy Folkman (Head of Strategy Unit, Policy Advisor to the Mayor, Municipality of Jerusalem) event is also coming along nicely. Max and Michelle will be working on publicizing the event, and Robert is getting final approval from TCU for Roy's honorarium of $100. I also will be hearing back soon from R25 about our room reservation (Crane Room, March 28th at 8PM). This may seem like a long time from now, but we only have this week and next week to plan for it because of Spring Break.
3. I just reached out to Sarah Moser, an EX-College Professor that teaches about the intersections of power, identity, ideology, and physical environments. Hal, Dira, and I are currently in her course and maybe she can come speak to us.
4. Check out an upcoming urban planning event this Thursday in Dewey Square outside of South Station:
https://www.facebook.com/events/514663125252592/?ref=3.Relates a lot to the Big Dig and South Station.
5. Lucas had a good idea of doing more UP3 group bonding. Anyone interested? We can talk more about this at our weekly meeting this Thursday.
Thank you everyone for making this group such a welcoming and exciting group on campus. We all deserve a lot of credit for accomplishing so much --- and for having so much more to look forward to as well.
See everyone soon!
