Dear Andrew,

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)’s 24th Conference of the Parties (COP24) will take place in Katowice, Poland from December 3 – 14, 2018, and for this event, Tufts may send an observer status delegation of undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, staff and alumni!

Participation in this event is organized by Tufts Institute of the Environment (TIE). As an interdisciplinary, university-wide institute that initiates, facilitates, and promotes environmental education, research, and outreach, TIE hopes to recruit delegates that will represent the variety of fields that engage with climate-change related issues here at Tufts. Not only will delegates be able to observe international negotiations that are critical for the health of the planet we all share, but they will have the opportunity to network with organizations focused on many environment-related topics, such as:

Business

Health

Ecosystem Management

Energy

Technology

Economics

Agriculture

Human Rights

Local Governments

Industry

Disaster Preparedness & Response

Water Management

Engineering

Arts & Humanities

Education

Communications Media & Journalism

International Relations

Trade

Scientific Innovation

And More!

We want to ensure that news of this once-in-a-lifetime experience reaches Tufts members of every discipline who are passionate about a sustainable future. Please forward the below link to anyone in Tufts Urban Policy, Planning, and Prosperity (UP3) whom you think may be interested in applying or helping us to spread the word. Please also see below and attached a graphic image you may choose to use. The first round of applications will be accepted until June 15th.

Best regards,
