Reminder - second meeting TOMORROW! (9/27 at 8PM in Hodgdon Lounge)

Hey UPP'ers!

I hope everyone had a good week, and if you're Jewish, happy New Year!

I am writing to remind everyone that our second meeting is tomorrow - Thursday 9/27 at 8PM in Hodgdon Lounge!

If you want to, please come in with a case-study in mind so that we can all become more familiar with the interdisciplinary nature of urban transportation development and hopefully so we all can be equally empowered and engaged - the group is yours as much as you want it to be!

I also updated our mission statement to reflect our decision to focus on transportation: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/up3attuftsuniversity, and worked on the constitution which I'll share with you guys tomorrow!

Here's a brief summary of what we decided last week that we'll be working on this week:

1. Introductions for members who couldn't make it last week, and talking about organizing a get-together outside of meeting time so we can get to know each other better and have fun! (i.e., maybe we can go out to the city for dinner, etc... or other ideas you guys propose!)

2. Furthering TCU/OCL recognition process (member list, constitution that explains we all have equal opportunity and 'power' in the group to expand our skills and expertise)

3. Exploring transportation case-studies (if you want, come in with one you're interested in!) so we can continue to increase depth and breadth of a particular topic, so we can start traveling, researching, networking, inviting speakers, lobbying, consulting soon...

4. Making sure everyone involved is part of our FB group so we can share ideas 

5. Discussing if we want a website beyond our FB group and Google Group (with a tufts.edu address which we can do at https://spark.uit.tufts.edu/)

6. Discussing if we want to meet earlier next Thursday only (7pm instead of 8pm?) because some kids (including myself) may be heading home for the long weekend

I think we are making a lot of progress and I'm really excited for the potential of the group, and, more importantly, the potential we all have to learn from each other, and, most importantly, the potential to enjoy each other's company and hopefully make new friendships!

Anyways, hope to see you all tomorrow! Just thought I'd send a reminder e-mail :)
