Just wanted to let everyone know that the presentation of the game at today's meeting went exceptionally; I (Charles) explained the features of the game in detail to the ACM (there were alot of members and the game seemed pretty well received.  Maurice and I spent many hours over the past few days revamping it and putting Joe's changes (the homing projectiles) into the Master Copy (which we are keeping on the computer in the ACM lab that has the speaker attached to it.  I added some colored bars representing boost power and health and also some mechanic changes such as braking/ascending is slightly slower than thrusting/descending.  There are also 3 types of enemies now with slightly different behaviors.  The game also now runs at 1280 x 720 and the background scales to this.  The controls have been changed to ASD for fire, boost, cloak to avoid keyboard ghosting one the space bar.

If anyone wants a copy of the game, you can pick up the Master Copy from the PC in 338 that I mentioned.  Maurice and I are going to gut most of the game in the week after exams and rebuild from the ground up with a better inheritance tree and model structure, so that there is less code in the game class.  After we do that we would like to show everyone what the new build is like under a proper Model-View-Controller structure that way you guys can see what you did wrong and the practices that should be followed on the next game you create.  A good code foundation is important to any program.

So, good job on the game this semester, it has a lot of cool features in it that weren't in the tutorial build.

We'd also like to introduce Justin to PhotoShop clones and practices to use when creating sprites to create good images.

Maurice and I will likely add a boos monster at the end of the game as well since we have some sprite for it.

this wraps up the shooter project, I will post another message when Maurice and I are done with the rebuild and perhaps we can meet up at some point over the summer and show you how we re implemented the game in a more manageable way.

We'd also like to see you guys work on something over the summer to keep your skills up, and also since you won't have the burden of classes.  Perhaps you might be interested in meeting up once a week and brainstorming some ideas for the next project while we clean up the old one.
