Job description:
12-15 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in a high-load, high-transaction production OLTP environment (10+ TB in size).
Installing and configuring Oracle Basic monitoring and tuning Backing up and recovering databases Basic understanding of database security issues Database design Good knowledge of DBMS series of packages Command over SQL and PL/SQL Procedures and caveats of
installing Oracle across different OS — Linux, Unix
Expert-level monitoring/maintaining Oracle databases in a mission-critical production environment (Scripting, Monitoring, Alerting, Troubleshooting).
Expert-level database performance analysis, tuning (SGA, PGA, SQL profiles, AWR, ADDM), and troubleshooting on a live production system
Experience with Oracle database replication (Golden Gate).
Must have experience in designing and implementing backup, recovery and disaster recovery plans including processes and procedures (RMAN, NetApp/Pure SANs).
Strong scripting skills with at least one of the following (Python, Bash).
Excellent hands-on experience with Oracle 12c Enterprise Edition and related tooling (OEM/Cloud Control)
Strong knowledge of underlying hardware performance and impact to CPU, Memory, and I/O (Linux)
PL/SQL expertise to help support Engineering & QA teams.
Experience with a variety of monitoring and application performance management tools (NewRelic, Nagios, PagerDuty, etc.).
Experience working in a highly-secured, highly-regulated, and compliance-rich environment (SOC, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and similar).
Ability to work in a high pressure, mission critical 24x7x365 environment as part of our on-call rotation.
Oracle certification/training a plus.
Deep understanding and expertise in the inner workings of Oracle's Optimizer
Expertise in data schema design
Expertise in capacity planning
Experience in horizontally scaling large database systems
Experience in cloud environments (AWS), and cloud storage technologies (RDS, SQS, SNS, Elastic Search
Experience in leading and driving technical projects across a number of engineering teams.
