Dear Colleague,
The TUC believes that this is the time to have a further attempt to
seek regulation on a maximum temperature at work. There has been some
political support from government through the “Warwick” discussions
last year and a number of unions including UNISON are supporting
petitions to number 10 on the issue.
To put forward specific proposals we will need two things.
1 Firstly any examples of where health or safety has been compromised
by heat in an indoor setting.
2 Examples of successful changes brought about as a result of union
action.
