Dear Esther,
Just a quick note to let you know that the Summer '24 Fellowship applications are now open! We'd be thrilled if you could once again encourage your students to apply.
Thanks to your consistent efforts in spreading the word these past months, several students from University of Maryland - College Park applied and and we would be delighted to welcome them in the coming programs.
The student's stories have been beautifully captured in the press and in our site’s alumni spotlight, which you can view here:
Fellows stories
Some share how they got a chance to learn about the European healthcare model; others were touched by the work ethic of the veterinarians they observed; some learned more about themselves and their academic and professional interests, returning home with even more resolve toward their future career.
Our goal is ambitious: to foster a generation of healthcare workers who are adaptable in diverse healthcare settings, and adept at overcoming linguistic and cultural barriers.
Your help in sharing this message amplifies our reach and impact.
Fellowship details and application steps are below. If you'd prefer a separate document, just let me know, and I'll send a pdf your way.
Thank you for being an instrumental part of this journey.
Best,
Martina

Doctors in Italy Fellowship: Cultivating Global Healthcare Leaders
In an interconnected world, healthcare leaders must work harmoniously with diverse cultures.
The Doctors in Italy Fellowship Program, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Health, offers students invaluable international exposure. Embark on a journey to Italy during summer 2024, shadowing professionals at institutions celebrated on Newsweek's 2024 World's Best Hospital list, or learning from veterinarians at premier animal rescues and clinics.
This immersive experience not only enriches cultural comprehension but also fosters vital skills like cross-culture communication, independence, and confidence. Such skills are paramount for tomorrow’s global healthcare landscape.
You'll earn more than shadowing hours; you'll become part of a community of peers from across the globe who share your same goals. At the same time, you’ll discover Italy’s culture, lifestyle, and sheer beauty through excursions, city tours, and group activities.
