Hi friends,

I hope you are all doing fine!

I have uploaded a couple of new picture sets.

You can find 4 new sets in the AM gallery (Life Forms, Enchanted,
Spiradelics and Worlds Apart):
http://artmatica.ch/am/html/galleries/am-gallery.html

...and there is one new set in the Voyager gallery, named Alien
Worlds:
http://artmatica.ch/amv/html/amv-gallery.html

You may have seen some of pictures at Renderosity already, but many of
them have never been shown anywhere.

More stuff (freebies, tips and probably new preset collections) will
be posted, once the new Artmatic and Voyager versions
are released.

Enjoy,

Dick

omg, Dick, you've gotten so good that it's just outrageous !! I can't
believe how good these are. Don't you think it's time you sell these
as prints or famous art or something?? Just gorgeous work !

Cheers,
Susan

images, Eonite.

Cheers!

Beautiful work. I would love to see some HD gradual unfoldings of those amazing fractals--they are so amazing. Your Voyager work is astounding. It seems like you are sending us photographs from an actual world. Your use of light is brilliant.

Best,

E

Thank you, Glen and Edward!

Really nice compliments.

Yes, Edward. I would like to see those fractals unfold in HD too. But since my intention has been to create stills I am not sure if they will work equally well when animated.

Btw. for those who wonder why the fractals in the gallery look different from other AM fractals, the answer is simple: The way Artmatic looks depends on how a particular system is built.

Even though Eric has provided tons of systems they do not cover everything that is possible with AM.

For example, the way the "Life Forms" fractals look,  requires that you are using a looped system
with a 2->3 looper and a CT above it, containing a subtree with a complex component (like Complex z^2+C).
When this system is looped and the parameters in the CT are set right you get a nice basic fractal image.

The alchemy however begins when you add another CT below the looper which contains a complex component as well.
While the Recursion parameter of the CT above the looper is kept at 0, the same parameter of the CT below is set to value higher than 0.
(The second CT adds density or thickness, as well as more detail, to the fractal.)

The looped object itself can be very simple, like for example a Gaussian Dot.

What counts is balancing out the parameters of the two CTs mentioned above. What`s also important in this case is the use of an Alpha Memory terminator, with the Feather parameter set to a medium value. This makes the layers appear as one entity.

It probably sounds awfully complicated but it`s not.

It seems like you are sending us photographs from an actual world.
I am glad you get the impression of photorealism. This has often been my intention when working with Voyager. ... and I find it thrilling to create a credible place which is different from what we know from our Earth experience.
Animating those is another chapter...

Hi Dick

Your Life Forms set is incredible. I like that one the most personally.

If you intend to have another product for AM, do please consider
a product based on this avenue of intrigue!

BTW I purchased more from you recently. All great stuff thanks!

Lastly, I also purchased a new extra internal hard disc of 400 Gigabytes
to make some movies on, and was surprised how cheap it was.
Better as an internal since writing to DVDs from an external can
nearly always lead to problems and crashes I've found.

Cheers

Hello Dick,

I really like your new stuff, I read the explanation about your
looping theory and fractal results and I have try some test without
great results maybe you can give me more details ? Or some ideas?

Your friend

Nicolas (Next time I stay a bit longer in Switzerland , I will send
you a mail!)

Hi Dick

A quick sincere thank-you for that file you made available, plus the
read-me. It's very generous of you to share this. I'm having a look at it
right now and find it fascinating.

Cheers

Are you kidding?! Now I don't want to go to work.
Fascinating system, thank you!
