Happy Monday EnCo!
What a great turnout we had at Oktoberfest on Saturday! You guys did such an amazing job keeping the city clean and assisting vendors when needed. With your help we were able to properly recycle 2,436 bottles and cans. WOW! The exec team ended up donating these items to ReStore's Habitat for Humanity drop-off. Thank you so much to our eager volunteers who were happily working in rain AND shine ;) you guys made this a wonderful time.
Meeting Thursday:
This Thursday, the 25th, join us in crafting informational posters on how to be more sustainable on campus! We will be painting, pasting, and drawing short and sweet posts to catch students' attention and encourage them to make greener choices. Afterwards, we will post them around campus. EnCo meets from 7-8 in room 347 of the IMU every Thursday. Anyone and everyone is welcome. 🖌️🎨

Weekly eco-goal: keep track of the perishable food items in your fridge. What is likely to go bad first? Make your eating decisions based on what needs to be eaten. Food waste is the second leading form of municipal solid waste generated in the US. The food that ends up in landfills creates methane gas, a greenhouse gas contributing to global warming.
Have a great week!
