Hi EnCo,
This week at our meeting we are happy to host Dr. Silvia Secchi, the director of EPPL and GSS in the School of Earth, Environment, and Sustainability at the University of Iowa. She will be giving her thoughts on environmental justice and agricultural repercussions associated with the environment. We will also be joined by the Honors Students for Unity and Progress! Join us Thursday, November 13th, from 7-8 pm in room 347 of the IMU.
November Monthly Challenge: use a reusable bag! Send a pic of yourself out with your bag to EmmaJean or Kate in the GroupMe to be put in the raffle drawing on December 4th 🛍️
Other Things
Students for Human Rights at Iowa (SHRAI) are hosting a letter making event to draw attention to gender protections in the state of Iowa and university. Furthermore, Jude Abel from the JoCo Trans Advisory Committee will be speaking on current and future initiative on the subject.
This is on Monday, November 17th at 6:30 pm at the Women’s Resource and Action Center. Anyone is welcome!
That's all I've got!
Weekly eco-goal: consider investing in some sustainable laundry products -- Laundry detergent: use disintegrating tablets or sheets or go to a refill station for liquid if possible. Dryer sheets: get some dryer balls instead! They are reusable and work just fine. Or simply consider if you need the hottest setting or highest water level for the load of laundry you're doing. Air drying uses no energy.
Have a great week,
