Hi all!

Happy Monday! We had a great first meeting last Thursday getting to know you and playing frisbee 😌.

Our next meeting, as always, is this Thursday the 11th from 7-8pm in the IMU room 347. We'll be brainstorming what we want the year to look like, getting to know each other better, and having Johnson County Democrat's campus organizer come in to discuss the top issues concerning us in our community. All thoughts and ideas are welcome! 🤝

Important Upcoming Things:
  • Sign up for Oktoberfest!!
    • Oktoberfest is September 20th from 10:30AM-3:00PM in Northside, Downtown Iowa City (aka the mini downtown north of main downtown)
    • EnCo needs at least 10 volunteers per shift to pick up cans, cardboard, and other recyclables to take them to the proper recycling facility.
    • You can volunteer for as long as you'd like. If you're free that Saturday, come join us! It'll be lots of fun, vendors give us free food, and overall we get to make cool connections with EnCo members and outside Iowa City goers. Our tent will be across from George's Buffet (312 E Market St).
    • Sign up here!!!
  • Iowa City Climate Fest September 19-25th🌎
    • Read Aloud at the River, September 23rd 10AM-2PM
      • Where? 📍Lagoon Shelter House (on the river)
      • What? Cornelia Mutel's essay collection: Tending Iowa's Land will be read and discussed. Open to the public! Bring a friend.

That's all! Come when you can.

Weekly eco-goal: pick up that piece of trash on the ground while walking to class. It's okay, no one's really watching. The local critters thank you🐿️.
