Hi Connie,

 

Here is the announcement for the groundbreaking ceremony for the First Street Church Project, our community’s new day haven and kitchen for the homeless and hungry.

 

Please help us get the word out by passing it along to students, faculty, friends and community members that are interested in food and social justice issues. In particular, we’d love to work with the UVA community garden folks and discuss a potential collaboration.

 

Also, we are open to receiving extra “hearts ‘n hands” next week as we spruce up and spit-shine the sanctuary in preparation for Thursday’s groundbreaking event. If you know of any potential volunteers to help us, please inform them we’ll be around at the site M-W, roughly 4-7PM each night next week. Bring buckets and brooms if you’ve got ‘em. Many hands makes light work, so it shouldn’t be too brutal!
