The Urban Watersheds Research Institute (“Institute”), in cooperation
with the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD) developed
and released, as freeware, the Water Quality Capture Optimization and
Statistics Model (WQ-COSM) software. It was developed to efficiently
size the Water Quality Capture Volume (WQCV) for BMPs utilizing it
through the use of continuous runoff volume modeling. This model may
be used anywhere in Colorado and any other place in the world where
continuous 1-hour or 15-minute precipitation data are available. By
taking this class you will learn what is behind continuous simulation
and in finding the optimized/maximized WQCV. It provides valuable
design and planning information for engineers, planners and stormwater
administrators.
UDFCD is sponsoring a series of half day training classes on this
important computer program, and the first one is on August 11th from 9
a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Attendees will be eligible for 3 CEC's toward ASFPM CFM
certification. The cost is $25, which includes lunch and handouts.
