I just started working with teens with autism on conversational/pragmatic skills and I feel like it is so fluffy and not structured. Does anyone use a program or structured activities to address these types of goals? I am also having trouble quantifying the results of each session with numerical data as this type of therapy is not easily quantifyable. Thanks!!

What are you targeting with them? eye contact, body language, topic maintenance?....

All. eye contact, personal space, topic maintenance, meaningful conversation, appropriate topic of conversation, greetings... I feel like these are things that spontaneously happen, like greetings happen at the beginning of the session but how do you make these goals into lessons with quantifying data??

So first pick one or 2 that you want to focus on and then do they have objectives? Like a number of exchanges or amount of seconds for eye contact? I can send you some stuff if u want

your so sweet. The goals are very vague- we just switched over to IEP direct so we now need short term objectives but the old therapist here was still in tracker so she just put in these vague goals with no objectives and no specifications. Any activities will be so helpful but only if you have them on your computer and its not a bother. Thanks a ton! I did find some books in the room that i could sift through so no worries if its a bother.
